Bone Tumors

Bone tumors are common in any of the bones of the hand.  Most common are cartilage tumors, but several other types are usually diagnosed on X-ray.  Occasionally, a biopsy of such a tumor is needed, followed by resection (removal) of the tumor and packing the resulting cavity in the bone with bone graft.
If a bone tumor is left untreated, then a later fracture or break of the bone at the site of the tumor is quite common.
