Specifically, therapists who are specially trained
in the care of the hands conscientiously design and implement treatment programs tailored to each patient, always with the ultimate goal being full restoration of function. In many cases, these therapists will construct a variety of splints and braces to accommodate each phase of healing.
As the teamwork approach is considered of paramount importance for a good end result, these therapists work closely with Dr. Gordon to ensure that each patient receives the highest-quality care.
On days when patients do not attend a therapy session, they continue their therapy by doing exercises designed for them as part of a home program. Ultimately, they transition to a program done completely at home.
Patients are generally sent to therapy on a regular basis, or otherwise in accordance with their needs. A clinical reassessment is done about once a month to measure and affirm progress.
